Year 7 & 8 Rugby

8th October 2021

Our Year 7 and Year 8 Rugby teams travelled to Camborne School to compete in our Peninsula league fixtures on Thursday evening.
Year 7’s are continuing to improve week by week, growing in confidence and certainly a team with bags of potential. This proved to be the case running out 7 tries to 1 winners against a very resilient Camborne team. Dylan C. was awarded the star player of the game, demonstrating great teamwork.
Year 8's (pictured below) played against a tough Camborne team with a squad full of seasoned rugby players. Camborne ended up winning the game 7 tries to 2. The first half was an even affair with both teams getting success with tough straight running. Camborne’s experience showed in the second half, however Helston showed excellent resilience to keep themselves in the game. Harvey B was the star player of the game for his big tackles and physical runs, Archie M also had a strong game in defence and caused problems with ball in hand.
All the best to the Year 8’s who travel to Penrice Academy next Tuesday to compete in this years Under 13 County Festival. Go well lads!!!
