Transport to College

For students who require transport to College there are two ways to avail of the bus pass:

You can buy a weekly or monthly ticket using the GoCornwallBus app, which gives the flexibility of being able to use it at weekends. This is also the cheaper option for student bus travel, but you will need to check that the bus route needed is covered.

Alternatively, you can apply for a termly or annual bus pass through Cornwall Council online at www.cornwall.gov.uk/post16transport after 1 June. Once you have received confirmation from Cornwall Council your child is entitled to transport, you should pay for their bus pass and bring or email the receipt of payment into Post 16 for reimbursement.

From September we will reimburse all students who purchase a bus pass to the value of £275. This is 50% of the cost of the Go Cornwall bus scheme, and just over 43% of the Cornwall Council bus scheme. For students who are eligible for the school bursary the full cost of the bus pass will be reimbursed.

For students who live in areas not serviced by a public bus, the College runs a minibus service for some parts of the Lizard peninsula. Please contact the Post 16 centre (Email post16@helston.tpacademytrust.org or phone 01326 575022) for details of routes that are covered.
