Christmas lecture

14th December 2017

Students, teachers, friends and family are warmly invited to attend a special Christmas lecture at Helston Community College by Roy Sambles, Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Exeter and former President of the Institute of Physics, and internationally acclaimed artist David Batchelor. This talk has been organised by CAST.

Professor Roy Sambles was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2002 for a wide range of pioneering experimental studies in the physics of light, including exploring the optical properties of liquid crystals used in flat screen colour displays, and the iridescence of coloured butterfly wings. He will demonstrate some of the ways in which colour and light may be created.

Artist David Batchelor has been experimenting with colour as it is experienced in the modern urban environment for over 25 years. He has also published several books and essays on colour and colour theory.

This lecture has been organised by CAST in partnership with the Institute of Physics and will be hosted in Helston Community College's North Site Hall. Admission is free and all are welcome!
